Testimonials...
Jody H. 40, Rohnert Park, California: Three years ago my wonderful husband drove me to the Acne Treatment Clinic, because the effects of a year-long struggle with adult acne were getting the best of me emotionally. Although my skin had always been oily and prone to an occasional pre-menstrual pimple, after I turned 37 something went seriously wrong. It should have been an exciting time in my life. I was restarting my education and a career in teaching. While working with kindergarteners that summer, I felt ashamed each time they asked me about the bumps on my face. My little buddies meant no harm, but I knew they were innocently verbalizing what adults were too afraid to say. What's wrong with your face?! I used to shop in a grocery store in the next town over so I wouldn't have to run into people I knew. For all the wrong reasons, I'll always remember my first Giants game at Pac Bell Park. All I could think about was how the field lights highlighted every zit, scar, and pore on my face. People could see my acne up close! I tried EVERYTHING!! I took different antibiotics, put tinctures under my tongue to cleanse my liver, bought strange-smelling Chinese herbs, tried a homeopathic remedy marketed by Loma Lux, and used the pill/ cream combination by Nature's Cure. I went for regular acupuncture appointments. I rubbed progesterone cream on my belly and bought Estroven tablets. When I threw up in a local Mexican restaurant before I ate dinner, I knew it was time to stop the contraceptive pill marketed as an acne treatment. I ordered Pro-Active, Murad's Acne Skin Care products, and Home Shopping Network's Serious Skin Care Acne line. Because I was considered too old to be reimbursed for Retin-A as an acne treatment, I paid for it out-of-pocket. I had just taken the blood tests required before Accutane, when I found the Acne Treatment Clinic online. Pamela's testimonial on the website stood out. Oh my God she has actually struggled with acne too!! There's something comforting in knowing that the product developer has experienced the physical and emotional pain of acne. Unless you've experienced it, it's hard to understand the devastating effects. Your face is usually the first thing people see. You can't wear baggy pants or an oversized t-shirt on your face! When I called her, Pamela was sympathetic and at the same time, positive about my future. She was also extremely funny, making me laugh during a time when I cried if you looked at me wrong. Because the Acne Treatment Clinic is only an hour drive, she suggested I come by. Late at night, Pamela and her staff greeted me with warmth. They all made me feel that they would personally make sure my skin and I were okay. The products they gave me came in simple plastic bottles with no nonsense labelsalready a difference from the other products I had tried. The Clinic had several different types of cleansers, topical treatments, masks, and peels. I was given products to meet my individual needs. The one-on-one attention that Pamela gives her customers via E-mail is priceless. If certain medicines are too harsh or too weak, Pamela is right there to tell you what to do. If you're feeling overtaken by the giant pimple on your cheek, Pamela is there to help put things in perspective. I'll never have movie star skin, but as corny as it sounds, I feel just as beautiful. Every day I wake up and say thank you in the mirror for all that Pamela and her staff have done for me. At age 40, I've finally learned to love myself both inside and out.
